How to select the right campaign type?

Last updated on December 3, 2025

Choosing the right campaign can help boost conversions and increase your store’s AOV.

With 8 campaign types available, it might feel overwhelming. But it’s easier when you know what each one is for.

This guide gives a quick overview of the best campaigns for every stage of the customer journey.

The following steps would help you choose the right campaign for your store.

Where do you want to show the campaign?

BoostUp lets you show upsell and cross-sell campaigns at different stages of the customer journey. Here are different places.

  • Product page: Show products that are closely related to the main (trigger) product.
  • Cart page: Suggest popular products or last-minute add-ons before checkout.
  • Post purchase: Show upsell offers after an order is placed, ensuring you focus on conversion first, and upsell next.
  • Thank you page: Show add-ons products on thank you page after the sale is complete to encourage the buyers to buy more.

How should the campaign appear?

BoostUp campaigns can be shown in two formats

  • Embedded: Displayed as an embedded widget on the product page, on the cart page, inside the cart drawer, etc.
  • Pop up: Appears when the customer clicks the “Add to cart” or “Checkout” button. In Selleasy, we do not have page entry pop-ups as they are more intrusive.

What’s the concept you want to use?

Here's a quick breakdown of the different concepts you can create with Selleasy

  • Bundle / Frequently bought together
Display a pre-selected bundle with complementary products (e.g., laptop + mouse) that can be added to the cart with one click.
  • Add-ons
Display optional items that can be bought along with a product. The add-ons can be selected using checkboxes and it gets added when the Add to cart button is clicked.
  • Upsell / down-sell one at a time
Show product recommendations individually in a sequence, ideal for upsell or down-sell flows. Typically used in popup and post-purchase campaigns.

Which design layout do you want?

Choosing the right layout helps present your offer in the most effective way. Here’s a quick guide:

  • List – Best to showcase 1 to 3 products in a clean, vertical layout.

  • Grid – Best to use when you have 4 to 8 products, displaying all the products without needing to scroll.
  • Amazon style – Great to use when you have 2 to 3 products with a familiar “Frequently bought together” layout.
